  • Which Tour do I choose?

    We offer 6 tour options:-

Our most popular tour is Coach Tour A – Tenerife Sunset & Stargazing with Evening Meal (Star Safari).

Your journey begins with a comfortable coach pickup from one of the many convenient hotel pick-up points in South Tenerife. We’ll stop in Chío for a light evening meal at Asador El Teide before heading into the heart of the national park.

At Merendero de Chío in the Corona Forest, you’ll witness a stunning sunset above the Sea of Clouds while enjoying a glass of Cava. The evening continues at Mirador de las Narices del Teide, nestled at the base of Pico Viejo, for an unforgettable stargazing and astrophotography experience under some of the clearest skies in the world.

Alternatively, take control of your adventure and opt for one of the self-drive Tours where you can join us for dinner or head straight to the sunset & stargazing experience - ideal if you are staying in North Tenerife.

  • Is it a big bus that picks us up?

Our main pick-up zone covers the area between Los Cristianos and Callao Salvaje. Guests in this area will typically travel in our comfortable 55-seater coach, where our friendly guide will keep you entertained with fascinating facts and fun anecdotes about Tenerife - from coast to cosmos!

If you're staying outside the main southern pick-up zone, you'll be collected in our 8-seater shuttle minibus. Don’t worry - your guide will still share interesting insights and stories about the island as you make your way up to Teide National Park for your sunset and stargazing experience.

  • Do we need our own car for a self-drive option?

We strongly recommend having your own transport if you're not joining one of our coach tours, as the evening includes up to three separate stops - one for dinner, one for the sunset, and one for stargazing.

Taxis are not a practical option, as they would need to wait at each location, making it very expensive. Public buses do not operate in the areas we visit, so self-driving in your own car is the best way to fully enjoy the experience.

  • Is Mount Teide cold at night?

In winter, temperatures at Mount Teide can drop to around 2°C, but with wind chill it can feel as cold as -2°C.

During the summer months, temperatures at altitude range between 15°C and 17°C—much cooler than the 30°C to 35°C you may be used to at the coast. Even in summer, many guests find it surprisingly chilly, so we recommend bringing warm layers year-round.

To keep you comfortable, we carry a selection of warm coats that you're welcome to use during the tour.

  • Is Teide National Park good for stargazing in Tenerife?

Yes, Teide National Park is one of the best places in the world for stargazing. Its high altitude, clean air, low light pollution, and clear skies make it ideal for observing distant galaxies, stars, planets, the Milky Way, and meteor showers.

  • What Is the best month for stargazing in Tenerife?

Tenerife is a top stargazing destination year-round thanks to its clear skies, high altitude, and minimal light pollution.

However, April to October is considered the best time for stargazing in Tenerife, with warmer temperatures and more stable weather conditions.

Here’s what you can expect to see throughout the year in Teide National Park:

    • January–March: Crisp, dark winter skies with views of Orion, Taurus, and the Pleiades Star Cluster. Great visibility for deep-sky objects like the Andromeda Galaxy.
    • April–June: Spring skies feature Leo, Virgo, and bright stars like Regulus and Spica. May marks the beginning of Milky Way season.
    • July–August: Peak stargazing months! See the Milky Way arching overhead, Saturn, Scorpius, and the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules. August also brings the Perseid Meteor Shower.
    • September–October: Stunning views of the Summer Triangle, Jupiter, and deep-sky favourites like the Ring Nebula. The weather is still warm and skies are clear.
    • November–December: Cool, clear nights return, offering views of Mars, Uranus, and the return of winter constellations like Gemini and Auriga. Look out for the Geminid Meteor Shower in December.

No matter when you visit, Tenerife stargazing tours at Teide offer breathtaking celestial sights guided by expert astronomers.

  • Can you see the milky way in Tenerife?

Yes, Tenerife is one of the best places in Europe—and the world—to see the Milky Way. Thanks to the island’s high altitude, clear skies, and very low light pollution, the Milky Way’s stunning band of stars and dust is visible on many nights throughout the year, especially during the spring, summer, and early autumn months.

For the best experience, join a guided sunset and stargazing tour in Teide National Park, where expert guides will help you spot the Milky Way and other celestial wonders with powerful telescopes.

  • Does the moon affect our night sky and how many stars can we see?

When the moon is nearly full, its brightness can diminish the visibility of some fainter stars. However, you will still easily spot all the major constellations and enjoy everything we showcase through the telescope. As an added bonus, you'll get to see the Moon - one of our owner and chief astronomer's favorite celestial objects to observe. Prepare to be amazed by the incredible detail  of the moon's surface, craters and mountains through our high-powered telescopes!
